To ensure that all clients expectations are met (and exceeded!), Kalico follows a similar approach for each project, no matter the size or scope. Our basic process is as follows:
1. Meet & Greet: At the start of each project, Kim will meet with you (either in person or via phone) to get an overview of the project. We will discuss the goals for outcome, the target audience, overall look and feel, as well as the budget and timeframe.
2. Estimate & Outline: Based on the outcome and answers during phase 1, a project estimate and outline will be delivered via email. The estimate will include a breakdown of prices, suggested project details (including print specs, if needed) and a production schedule.
3. Concept & Doodlings: Once we have all the project details needed, we will then start to perform our design magic. In most cases, one or two concepts, or comps, will be presented to the client. Concepts may include a comp layout, suggested color and font palettes, and potential imagery usage.
4. Presentation & Feedback: Concepts will be presented to the client either in person or as emailed pdf files. Upon client feedback, three rounds of author alterations are allowed, such as text edits or minor design adjustments. Revised comps will always be sent to the client as emailed pdf files, for easy review.
5. Approval & Delivery: Upon client approval, Kalico will release final, press-ready files either directly to the client or to the selected printer. Final files will be supplied via email, by ftp upload or on disk.
